We deeply regret to announce that this Sunday’s Surrey League 2/3 road race on the Cutmill circuit (28th June) has been cancelled.

Following a thorough safety inspection of the circuit this morning, we have made the difficult but necessary decision that the course is currently too dangerous to race on.

The road surface on the fast, narrow section through Sands is in an incredibly poor and hazardous condition. Unfortunately, Surrey Highways have only made token efforts to make these roads safe for road users.

As organizers, rider and volunteer safety is our absolute priority. Given the current state of the tarmac, we have severe concerns not only for the safety of the riders racing at high speeds but also for our motorcycle outriders and convoy drivers who have to navigate these sections.

View the attached photos to see the exact state of the road surface we are dealing with.

All entered riders will receive a full update regarding refunds and entry fees via email shortly. Thank you to our host club, Paceline RT, and all the volunteers who had committed to helping us run this event.

We share your frustration, but we will never compromise on the safety of our cycling community.
