| Round 2 of the Ottershaw Series organised by Doug Collins of the
Twickenham CC for the Surrey League in Surrey on Sunday was won by well known track man
James Taylor (City of Edinburgh) preparing for some racing in South Africa with Tony Gibb
in the next week. The race supported by more than 60 riders and held in bright sunshine
was yet again dominated by a break from which Colin Roshier (Team Quest) tried to extract
himself repeatedly in the final 5km but in the sprint, Taylor was too fast for the
talented roadman Roshier. One of the unluckiest riders in the break was Tim Wood who
punctured with a lap to go but managed to hold the fast moving break to a minute at the
finish. In the series, the
lead is held jointly by James Taylor and Paul Crook. |
