2 laps of combined Kirdford & Alfold Circuits – 35 miles

HQ at Alfold Crossways Village Hall, will be open from 12:00.

Entry fee: £60 per team

Postal entries with fees on Surrey League Entry Forms to Ken Prince at:-
Surrey Cycle Racing League, 5 Fourwinds, 18 Clockhouse Road, Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 7QY.

Priority of entry will be given to club teams of registered riders in Senior, Under 23, junior, women, vets categories but combined teams may enter and riders without BC racing licences will be able to ride on payment of a single day licence fee of £10.

NB. A lot of confusion and trouble occurred in the past with clubs changing riders between teams on the day.  This made the timekeeper’s job very difficult and signing on was chaos with riders swapping numbers and riding with numbers different from that under which they had signed and different from that which appeared on the result board.  Please enter entire teams of four in the formation in which they will ride and note that each team is allowed to nominate two reserves.  You are advised to take advantage of this facility.  Individual riders may feature as nominated members for one team and reserves for another.  Because of the problems that occur in getting 4 riders to race day together, club’s entering multiple teams are advised to nominate the fastest 2 riders in their 2^nd team as reserves for the first team, the fastest 2 riders in team 3 as reserves for team 2, etc.

Hard shell helmets must be worn by all competitors.

Prizes:

1st Team - 40 Surrey League points (10 points each)

2nd Team - 24 Surrey League points (6 points each)

3rd Team - 8 Surrey League points (2 points each)

4th Team to last team - 4 Surrey League points (1 point each)

 Bonus points

1st Vets team - 8 Surrey League points (2 points each)

1st women's team - 8 Surrey League points (2 points each)

1st junior team - 8 Surrey League points (2 points each)

1st Under 23 team - 8 Surrey League points (2 points each)

All points will go towards the Surrey League Overall Time Trial Rankings and the Surrey League Overall Rankings. 

All points will be turned into cash and be handed out at the Surrey League prize presentation in November.

The Fred Cowley Trophy will be presented to the fastest senior club team on the day and the Micky Ayliffe Trophy will be presented to the fastest Ladies club team on the day.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Competitors are requested not to warm up on the course after the first team has started.  Details of any additional hazards  will be displayed or advised at the Signing On table.  All competitors must take note of these details when they sign on.  Competitors must exercise extra care when turning Left at Alfold Crossways and Dunsfold Common, on the double bends in Plaistow and Kirdford and when joining the B2133 at Loxwood. 

No times will be given at the Finish.

Course Details: START at field entrance on left of Dunsfold Lane approximately 350 yards north west of HQ at Alfold Crossways. Proceed via Dunsfold Common to T junction with Dunsfold Common Road at southern end of Dunsfold (M). LEFT and proceed southwards over river bridge bearing LEFT (Mx2) at fork to Plaistow.  Follow road round to the RIGHT in Plaistow, ignoring left fork to Ifold, (Mx3) and continue to T junction at western end of Kirdford (M). LEFT and follow road through Kirdford village to T junction at eastern end of Kirdford (M). LEFT and follow road round to the right past Barkfold Manor to junction with Skiff Lane (M). LEFT and follow Skiff Lane northwards via Gunshot Common to junction with B2133 (M). LEFT onto B2133 and continue northwards through Loxwood and Alfold to complete lap just short of the junction with A281at Alfold Crossways (M).  Turn LEFT on unclassified Dunsfold Road past entrance to HQ through start and continue for a further lap through Dunsfold Common, Plaistow, Kirdford, Skiff Lane, Loxwood, and Alfold to finish on B2133 at BT inspection cover at entrance to Clappers Orchard just before reaching A281 at Alfold crossways and 530 yards short of start.

The Surrey League regularly use the National Escort Group to help with the safety of their events.
