Stage 1 Course Details

Headquarters:  Capel Village Memorial Hall, 55 The Street, Capel, Surrey RH5 5EL.

Time of Start: 12:00

Course Details: Proceed southwards through Capel Village to Clarkes Green RaB where take the 1st exit.  In Rusper TL and go through Newdigate and Parkgate to start first circuit (8.9). Go SO into Pheasant Lane.  TL into Charlwood Lane through Russ Hill to Charlwood village.  TL into Norwood Hill Road (13.5, 25.6 and 37.7). Go over Norwood Hill (KoM) to Leigh (Hot Spot) and Dawes Green.  TL into Charmans Lane to Parkgate to complete circuit (21.0 and 33.1).   On the 3rd circuit TR at Shelwood Cross (44.0) to Brockham Park.   TL to Holmwood Common where fork left and then TL into Blackbrook Road.  Climb Henfold Hill (48.6, 56.7 and 64.8) and on to Newdigate. TL to Parkgate.  TL to Shelwood Cross to complete circuit. (52.1 and 60.2).  On the 3rd circuit TR at Newdigate (65.8) and then TR into Kingsland/Trigg Street.  TL into Misbrooks Lane.  In Capel TL into The Street to Clarkes Green RaB.  Take 1st exit to Rusper.  TL to Newdigate to complete the circuit. (75.8, 85.7 and 95.6).   Finish in Trigg Street  - 96.1 miles. 

Hot Spots Primes: By ‘The Plough’, Leigh (29.9 & 42.0 miles), by ‘The Surrey Oaks’, Parkgate (50.8 & 58.9 miles).

K.o.M: Norwood Hill (Cat 3) (27.1 & 36.8 miles), Henfold Hill (Cat 3) (48.6 & 56.7 miles).

Finish Point: In Trigg Street, Capel.

Race Distance: 96.1 miles, 154.2 kilometers.

Rolling Surrey lanes with hardly any flat bits but lots of holes in the road.   If you look up you will see many pretty views.
